Winter is coming, so you know what that means: time to pack on the holiday love pounds, surround ourselves with ones most dear and relish in what this magical month has in store.
While the summer is packed with Hollywood blockbusters, the holiday season provides audiences with films that are sure to bring a smile to our faces as we sit back and relax in theatrical merriment. Here’s a list of our must-watch films debuting this holiday season at Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas. Enjoy!
Dec. 13—Jumanji: The Next Level Must-See Movies
Watch With: Ultimate gamers
Who doesn’t love a good sequel? This time around, the team of friends must return to Jumanji to save one of their own, as he accidentally reentered the world’s most dangerous game alone. With threatening adventures on the horizon and new characters at play, more is at stake when attempting to beat the game one more time.
Drink This: Like the exotic lands featured in the film, stay on-theme and opt for the colorful spicy margarita. The marg features Tanteo Jalapeño Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, fresh jalapeño rings, strawberry purée and agave nectar, served on the rocks in a salted rim glass.
Eat This: With a movie packing this much punch, we recommend a dish that comes fully loaded. The pork loaded fries will do the trick—made with pulled pork, bacon, nacho cheese blend, jalapeños and topped with sour cream and pico.
Dec. 20—Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Must-See Movies
Watch With: Jedis and Siths alike
The wait is over as the Skywalker saga concludes with the ninth installment of the epic Star Wars series. Rey and the Resistance continue on in their journey to bring down the First Order once (and hopefully) for all. In the final chapter, we will see the ancient conflict between Jedi and Sith unfold, as we learn who will prevail after all.
Drink This: The White Cosmopolitan is made with Ketel One Citroen vodka, St. Germain, fresh lime juice, white cranberry juice and topped with a fresh lemon peel. This delicious drink will have you feeling like you’re on cloud nine in a galaxy far, far away.
Eat This: With a movie filled with flying spaceships, a plate of classic wings seems like the obvious choice here. Served with veggie sticks and a variety of complimentary sauces, the chicken wings are a no-brainer.
Native Knowledge: For a limited time only, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas will be offering special ticket pricing every Tuesday!
Dec. 20—Cats Must-See Movies
Watch With: Theatre Buffs
To this day, “Cats” is still one of the longest-running musicals in both the highly regarded West End of London and on Broadway in New York. Now, it is set to make its feature-film debut this December. Cats tells the story of the Jellicle tribe of cats who must decide in a given night which one of them will ascend to the Heaviside, returning with a new life.
Drink This: Mixed with Coding 1530 Rosa tequila, Cinépolis rosé wine, fresh lime juice and topped with an orange peel, the All Day Rosé is the perfect treat.
Eat This: The chicken potstickers are a great choice. They come steamed or crisped with slaw mix, sesame dressing and a side of soy sauce. Even better, the potstickers are offered during Cinépolis happy hour! Puuuurfect.
Native Knowledge: Every Monday through Thursday, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas will be hosting happy hour. From 3:30-5:30 p.m., enjoy a whopping 40 percent off of house wines by the glass, draft beer and well liquor. Location specials may vary.
Dec. 25—Little Women
Watch With: Literature lovers
Based on the classic American novel by Louisa May Alcott, this screen adaptation of “Little Women” follows the lives of the March sisters, as they transition from childhood to adulthood while creating their own rites of passage beyond the societal matronly norms that were expected of women in the 19th century.
Drink This: Relax and take in this American classic with Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas’ Private Label of house wine. Served by the glass or bottle, both selections are available in red or white and are equally delightful.
Eat This: The tapas and cheese plate is the perfect dish to compliment your wine selection, as it comes with prosciutto tapas with pesto goat cheese and arugula, assorted cheese, olives, apples, strawberries and crostinis.
Native Knowledge: Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas joined forces with Sonoma Wine Company, which helped source the vineyard, to create their house wines of rosé, sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon.
Dec. 25—Spies in Disguise
Watch With: Aspiring spies in the family
Skillful agent Lance Sterling has his work cut out for him when he teams up with a budding scientist to save the world from perilous danger. All in a day’s work for Sterling; things take an unexpected turn, however, when his young apprentice accidentally turns this super-spy into a pigeon. Now, this unsuspecting duo must rely on each other’s strengths to complete their mission.
Drink This: Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas offers an array of soft drinks to choose from, including Coca-Cola, Cherry Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Root Beer, along with lemonades and iced teas.
Eat This: Since we’re indulging, opt for the classic half-pound burger, made with 8 ounces of Angus beef and topped with onions, pickles, mayo, lettuce, tomato and an option to add cheese and bacon—it’s the perfect complement to that soda order. Yum!
