The “end of summer blues” is a real-life affliction that affects many. The weather becomes cooler and the days become shorter, which can make the seasonal shift quite distressing. There is no other time of the year where it’s acceptable to consume bountiful amounts of candy or wear crazy costumes as much as we do during this month. So, we implore you to indulge in the fall festivities and reel in the best flicks October has to offer at Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas.

Oct. 4—Joker Movies in October

Watch With: DC Comics enthusiasts, especially Batman and Joker nuts

An origin story and alternative take on Batman’s most iconic arch-nemesis, Joker offers a gritty and unique perspective on a man, Arthur Fleck, discounted by society, who ultimately turns to a life of crime and deranged mayhem.

Drink This: Featuring Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation American Gin, another actor who also portrayed a few comic book characters (including Marvel and DC heroes), the American Gin and Tonic is a must-have.

Eat This: Pork Loaded Fries, which comes with pulled pork, bacon, nacho cheese blend, jalapeños, sour cream and pico, and be sure to add some candy to your course. You are watching a film about a clown after all.

Oct. 11—The Addams Family Movies in October

Watch With: Your own oddball family

The animated film tells the story of the ghoulishly eccentric Addams Family and their lives after they move to a new town in New Jersey. The story will follow the family as they try to plan for a family reunion, while also dealing with the 21st-century stresses of society and a scheming antagonist in the form of a reality TV host.

Drink This: ICEE all the way. Offered in wild cherry and blue raspberry, this classic childhood frozen treat is great for everyone to enjoy.

Eat This: The trio of Gourmet Beef Sliders is prepared with Angus beef, American cheese, pickles, spring mix, tomatoes and ketchup. The tasty dish is also offered on the kid’s menu for the little ones.

Native Knowledge: Private events can be held for events like corporate entertaining, meetings, holiday parties, anniversaries and birthdays. Tickets purchased in bulk qualify for group discounts.

Oct. 18—Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Watch With: Your badass BFF

Picking up where Maleficent left off, this dark Disney fantasy explores the life of Maleficent and Aurora several years after the duo restored peace to their magical home. Relationships begin to break apart as a new threat surfaces in the enchanted kingdom, forcing the horned fairy and her goddaughter to question their complex family ties.

Drink This: With new dark forces at play in this spellbinding flick, keep things light with a White Cosmopolitan, prepared with Ketel One Citroen vodka, St. Germain, fresh lime juice, white cranberry juice and topped with a fresh lemon peel.

Eat This: Grilled Chicken Sandwich, made with grilled chicken breast, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado and Sriracha mayo. This will help keep you energized through all of the action.

Native Knowledge: Magic Hour is back! Enjoy reduced ticket pricing Monday through Thursday on shows from 2-5 p.m. for a limited time only!

Oct. 18—Zombieland 2: Double Tap Movies in October

Watch With: Your friends who are a little too ready for the Zombie Apocalypse

With evolved zombies looming behind every corner, Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock trek across the US, making their way to the American heartland. The zombie slayers encounter fellow survivors and new opposing threats, all the while being forced to deal with their kooky makeshift family dysfunction.

Drink This: Keep it simple with a draft beer, featuring popular selections of Stone IPA, Blue Moon, Stella Artois, Coors Light and Model Especial.

Eat This: If you can stomach consuming a meal during a zombie movie, then the “hearty” Ultimate Burger is the way to go. Made with an 8-ounce Angus beef patty and topped with American cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, Sriracha mayo, lettuce and tomato is a delicious option, but we understand if you decided to opt for the garden salad instead.

Native Knowledge: Every Monday through Thursday, Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas hosts happy hour. From 3:30-5:30 p.m., enjoy a whopping 40 percent off house wines by the glass, draft beer and well liquor. Location specials may vary.

Oct. 29—The Exorcist: Director’s Cut

Watch With: That horror film buff that knows every behind-the-scenes trivia

Enjoy a cinematic classic with an added twist: 10 minutes of footage that was deleted before The Exorcist’s 1973 release. The Extended Director’s Cut, carefully integrated by director William Friedkin and producer/screenwriter William Peter Blatty, are sure to shock and amaze.

Drink This: A glass of wine is the obvious choice here. It’s also delightfully delicious.

Eat This: The Baja Bowl—made with shredded chicken breast and mixed with chipotle tomato sauce, rice, beans, avocado, cheddar jack cheese, lettuce, tortilla strips and chiles bravos—is a tidy dish that will both fill you up and not distract from the film.

Native Knowledge: Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas joined forces with Sonoma Wine Company, which helped source the theater’s vineyard, to create their house wines of Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
